One last road trip post to close everything out. I have had these pictures since July so I figured it was about time to condense everything that happened in California into one post. We finished our 6 day road trip of 10 state and over 3,500 miles with smiles on our faces. I choose to surround myself with people who encourage my creativity, fuel my passions and remind me that literally anything is possible if you work hard enough. Jaice and I changed our plans multiple times but this one worked out to be one of my favorites. We were about 16 miles north of Vegas and had planned to drive to Yosemite but at about 12:30am we decided to flip around and head straight towards LA. This meant we could get our kicks on Route 66 😉
After our middle of the road photoshoot, we got in the car and headed down the road where I saw an old, abandoned gas station (JACKPOT). I almost had to beg Jaice to pull over and ignore the “no trespassing” sign but after some convincing, we pulled over! We took pictures then hopped back into the car to finish our way to LA.
Once in LA, we met up with the other half of my soul (HNelly) and headed out to find somewhere fun to shoot. We ended up at the Bates Motel. We wanted to sneak in but then the grounds keeper was there and asked us not to so we honored his wishes and made the most of the outside scenery. There is just a creative energy about LA where no one cares that you’re on the side of the road doing a photoshoot. Honestly, no one really cares what the average folks are doing because everyone is just trying to make it.
I applaud my friends for being able to live in LA but for me, I will just continue to visit.
This brings us to the very end of the cross country road trip, thanks for reading along!
